The degree of membership in a professional organization typically refers to the level or status a member holds within the Institute . There are four degrees of membership in the Institute :
1) Graduate Member, designated as “GIIE"
A Graduate member must have passed or obtained exemptions from the body of knowledge as set by the Board of Directors.
2) Fellow Member , designated as “FIIE"
A fellow member must have passed or obtained exemptions from the body of knowledge as set by the Board of Directors, often requiring at least 10 years of practical experience
3) Honorary Fellowship, designated as “FIIE(Hon.)”
Granted to individuals who have made significant contributions to their field, often through research, teaching or professional practice
4) Honorary Doctorate, designed as “Doctor Honoris Causa”
Granted to individuals who have made significant contributions to their field, often requiring the process of RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning).
