Honorary and Academic Titles

Honorary academics are those should be academies from other institutions, professionals from the world of practice or academics and practitioners who can make a significant contribution to the Institute’s academic activities.

1) Distinguished Honorary Professor
Candidates must have an established record of distinguished scholarship, groundbreaking research and professional success in the dynamic world of industrial engineering,

2) Honorary Professor
Candidates must have made significant contributions to the academic community, professional associations or research institutions, by serving as role models and leaders to push the boundaries of their fields forward.

3) Honorary Professor of Practice
Candidates must be renowned experts who have make remarkable advancements in their disciplines in the field of industrial engineering.

4) Honorary Associate professor
Candidates must made extraordinary contributions to the academic community, professional associations or research institutions

5) Honorary Adjunct Professor
Candidates must have demonstrated exceptional expertise in their field

The guidelines for awarding the honorary academic titles are as follows:

a) In all cases, the process of awarding the honorary titles involves the certification of work experience, formal education, professional qualification and voluntary service.

b) The recipient should be associated with, co-operated with or made a substantial contribution to the activities of the Institute in an honorary capacity.

c) The honorary title is given to an individual not employed by the Institute

d) There is no appeal process in the event that the Institute decides not to confer the honorary title.

e) The honorary title may be revoked by the board of directors should the title holder been involved in circumstances that is likely to bring reputational damage to the institute.

f) The normal period of honorary appointment is five years and is renewable.

g) The honorary titles are conferred at the appropriate ceremony or convocation.
